Horseback riding safaris through the African bush is for some the ultimate way to experience its magnificent flora and fauna. The rattle of engines is replaced by the natural, gentle sound of horses moving through forest, stream and grassland. The intimate immersion in nature is unmatched.
They are generally arranged from three to ten days in length and are normally reserved for good riders, who can canter and enjoy spending several hours in the saddle. On top of beautiful, sleek, fit horses, you can get very close to the game and ride amongst them.
The main attraction is the joy of riding good horses over superb country, with just about every landscape dotted with game. The riding is varied: sometimes quietly walking, stalking big game and admiring the bird life, and at other times cantering through the bush alongside galloping game.
