DAY 1 – Kalahari Plains Camp/Central Kalahari Game Reserve – Full Board – Scheduled flight to Maun and to Kalahari Plains. Sleep out under the stars on rooftop platform.

DAY 2 – Kalahari Plains Camp/Central Kalahari Game Reserve – Full Board – Walk with Bushman. Visit habituated Meerkats. Afternoon game drive.

DAY 3 – Tubu Tree Camp/Okavango Delta – Full Board – Morning game drive. Fly to the Okavango Delta. Arrive at Tubu Tree Camp. Night game drive.

DAY 4 -Tubu Tree Camp/Okavango Delta – Full Board – Morning makoro (dugout canoe) adventure. Bushwalk and visit to the hide. Evening boat ride.

DAY 5 – Tubu Tree Camp/Okavango Delta – Full Board – Morning game drive. Afternoon fishing, birding or boating excursion. Sleep out in star bed.

DAY 6 – Linyanti Tented Camp/Linyanti Concessions – Full Board – Fly to Linyanti Tented Camp in Linyanti Concessions. Afternoon game drive.

DAY 7 – Linyanti Tented Camp/Linyanti Concessions – Full Board – Morning game drive. Afternoon spent at waterhole and hide. Evening game drive.

DAY 8 – Linyanti Tented Camp/Linyanti Concessions – Full Board – Nature walk along Linyanti River. Breakfast at hippo pool. Afternoon game drive.

DAY 9 – Linyanti Tented Camp/Linyanti Concessions – Breakfast – Morning game drive and fly back to Maun.

Kalahari Plains Camp/Central Kalahari Game Reserve

In marked contrast to the camps in the Okavango, Kalahari Plains sits on the edge of an immense pan. Large herds of gemsbok (oryx) and springbok arrive in the wake of the summer rains, attracting the attention of cheetah and black-maned Kalahari lions. The annual transformations belie a sense of timelessness and authentic San Bushman cultural experiences give insights into an ancient yet sustainable way of life.

Eight cool canvas guest tents (including one family unit) each feature a rooftop sleep-out platform, with unequalled views of the night sky. A refreshing pool and unique architecture make the desert temperatures much more comfortable.

Adventurous travellers seeking a truly remote African safari will be thrilled to discover it in central Botswana. The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is the second largest game reserve in the world and one of the least visited, nothing can prepare you for the sheer wonder of exploring this vast reserve with its wild, untouched beauty. The landscape is dominated by sand veld, acacias, and Kalahari apple-leaf, interspersed with grasslands and dotted with occasional sand dunes, pans and fossil river valleys. While the reserve is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, there is one animal that is rather obviously absent, the human being. It is this lack of human traffic, combined with the park’s lack of infrastructure, that makes for a challenging and marvellously authentic African experience. Visitors need to be entirely self-sufficient but those willing to make the effort will be richly rewarded.

7 x twin-bedded luxury canvas tented rooms each with two three-quarter beds.

1 x family luxury canvas tented unit with two three-quarter beds in each bedroom (consists of 2 bedrooms each with own bathroom and entrance, sharing a deck).

Tubu Tree Camp/Okavango Delta

From its location on the western side of remote Hunda Island in the Okavango Delta, Tubu Tree has easy access to a diverse range of habitats. Day and night game drives explore productive mopane and acacia woodlands, with Tubu Tree being well known for its leopard sightings. Wildlife movements vary with seasonal water levels, meaning that no two Tubu experiences are ever the same – but all are equally wonderful.

Eight guest tents (including one designed for families) offer breathtaking floodplain views from their elevated positions. In addition to the drama and excitement of game drives, seasonally-available water activities facilitate a different pace and perspective.

Situated in the northwestern corner of Botswana, the Okavango Delta is a World Heritage Site as it is the largest inland delta in the world. The magnificent Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming this flourishing waterlogged oasis featuring countless meandering waterways and crystal clear lagoons studded with water lilies, as well as fertile floodplains and reeded islands inhabited with abundant wildlife. The Okavango Delta stretches over 15000 square kilometres. Visitors can enjoy a number of wonderful activities such as game viewing, fishing, bird watching or taking an authentic guided Mokoro excursion through this wetland paradise in a traditional dugout canoe. Commonly spotted animals include: lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephants, crocodiles and countless species of bird.
