DAY 1 – Intercontinental Hotel – Johannesburg/O.R. Tambo Airport – Upon arrival you will clear customs and immigration and will then be escorted to your hotel just across the hall of the airport to rest after your long international flight.

DAY 2 – Rovos Rail – Pretoria to Cape Town – Fully Inclusive – Depart from Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria. Dinner and overnight on the train. (Breakfast 07h00-10h00 • Lunch 13h00 • Tea 16h30 • Dinner 19h30)

DAY 3 – Rovos Rail – Pretoria to Cape Town – Fully Inclusive – Travel across the Karoo towards Matjiesfontein. Overnight on board. Visit the extraordinary Big Hole and the Diamond Mine Museum.

DAY 9 – Londolozi Varty Camp/Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve – Fully Inclusive – Morning flight to Londolozi Varty Camp. Afternoon tea and game drive.

DAY 10 – Londolozi Varty Camp/Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve – Fully Inclusive – Morning game drive, wildlife viewing, photography and bush brunch. Afternoon massage at the spa and “In the Footsteps of Nelson Mandela” village walk. Evening at the campfire with great storytelling and red wine.

DAY 11 – Londolozi Varty Camp/Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve – Fully Inclusive – Morning bush walk and wildlife tracking. After lunch exercise at the yoga studio or fitness center followed by a late afternoon game drive and sundowners.

Rovos Rail: Pretoria to Cape Town

Rovos Rail has earned an international reputation for its truly world-class travel experiences. Another stop is made in Kimberley providing an opportunity to enjoy a city tour and a visit to the Diamond Mine Museum and the world’s largest man-made excavation, the Big Hole.

CABIN CONFIGURATION

You have a choice of 3 different levels of accommodation including Royal Suites, Deluxe Suites or Pullman Suites.

The Pullman Suites (±76 sq feet) accommodate two passengers and are equipped with a comfortable sofa-seat during the day with a conversion to double or twin beds for the evening, and also have an en-suite bathroom with shower.

The Deluxe Suites (±108 sq feet) accommodate two passengers in either twin or double beds and have a lounge area and en-suite bathroom with shower. The wood-panelled rebuilt sleeper coaches, remodelled and refurbished to mint condition, offer every modern convenience and comfort.

The Royal Suites, each of which take up half a carriage, are spacious and elegant measuring ±16 sq metres in size. Each has its own private lounge area and full bathroom with Victorian bath and separate shower. The epitome of luxury with handsome wood panelling and period Edwardian features, the air-conditioned suites accommodate two people offering the option of side-by-side twin or spacious double beds.

In the en-suite bathrooms, original fittings combine with the modern technology of hot showers, hair dryers and shaver plugs. The spacious suites offer passengers the opportunity to travel in privacy, comfort and luxury, with fittings and facilities that are of the highest standard. All are equipped with a writing surface and a personal safe for valuables. There is also a bar fridge filled with beverages of the passengers’ choice and room service is available 24 hours a day.

The campfire has burned for over 90 years making Varty Camp the symbolic heart and soul of Londolozi. All rooms have private swimming pools framed by timber decks that overlook the riverine bush. Adjacent to the Kruger National Park, the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve is a private premier game viewing destination. It was the first-ever private nature reserve established in South Africa.
